Something to consider. This thought has crossed my mind as a logical concept for many years, which led me to try to be as chemical-free as possible. Hopefully my children will follow suit. However, it will take a complete mindset shift to tackle this issue on a global scale.
One of my favorite herbalists, Rosalee, posted this on the East West FB page today and I had to share. Castor Oil packs are a wonderful remedy for sore muscles and joints, sciatica, and even to dissolve cysts. This link takes you to a wonderful tutorial and consequently, a really great blog. Check it out!
This is absolutely the perfect homemade granola recipe! I like to add other nuts and fruits as well. I have an unhealthy craving for chocolate chip cookies so I like finding healthy alternatives.
Another option is trail mix. My husband makes the best blend using toasted almonds, flax powder dusted dried cherries and cranberries, semisweet chocolate, and granola chunks. It gets better the more nuts you add- I like peanuts and pecans.
Check out the 2012 Webinar Series at the bottom of the page. Many of these will be open to the public, some FREE, and archived on the site. I just attended the seminar on Allergies and Hyper-sensitivity with Guido Mase RH and it was an excellent presentation. Great lectures are always invigorating, and they often re-awaken my passion for learning and healing with herbs, as did this one.
This is a fantastic recipe from Todd Caldecott. Per an herbalist’s recommendation, to remedy my low energy and feelings of cold I eat 1 tsp/ day of blackstrap molassed to “build blood”. After taking it for just a few days my energy levels and body temp rose to what I feel is the appropriate level. I am looking forward to making and trying this even more powerful syrup recipe!
The above link takes you to another recipe using western herbs that has a similar effect.
